OM’s Ship Ministry has responded to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic by closing Logos Hope to the public. The ship is docked in Kingston, Jamaica, while next steps are being decided. A response team has been put in place to monitor developments and make decisions in the best interests of the community on board and in accordance with the advice of all relevant authorities.

Since then, four vessels have crisscrossed the world, welcomed almost 49 million people up their gangways and reached out to perhaps as many more again on shore. Logos Hope was purchased in 2004. The ship's gross tonnage is three times that of Logos II, the ship it replaces.

MV Logos Hope is a ship operated as a part of a Christian outreach movement by Gute Bücher für Alle. She was built in 1973 as the ferry MV Gustav Vasa for service between Malmö (Sweden) and Travemünde (Germany) and later operated as the MV Norröna providing a ferry service to the Faroe Islands.
